Rain Screen Cladding: Why It Suits UAE Buildings

A rain screen façade separates the outer cladding from the building wall with a ventilated cavity. In the UAE, where buildings face intense heat and humidity, this cavity does two important jobs: it keeps moisture away from the structure and reduces the heat that reaches the wall.

How it works

The system has three layers — the bearing wall, an insulation layer and the outer cladding panels — fixed with a sub-frame of brackets and rails. Air moves through the cavity, carrying heat and moisture away.
